On Thursday, March 25, friends and strangers alike gathered online for our fourth annual Storyslam, a digital celebration of food, story & community…

With the theme Recipes for Resilience, the night’s featured the powerful stories of food changemakers exploring what resilience means in this moment. From finding resilience in the cracks in the pavement, to the legacies of our ancestors, to the soil and lush grass, and around the table, an enduring story of the resilience found in community emerged.

All proceeds from this year’s Storyslam benefited the RFRS Resilience Fund, providing microgrants to food workers impacted by the pandemic and California wildfires.

What Does Community

Resilience Mean to You?

In times of struggle, we remember that coming together can help us grow the world we want to live in. Through the thoughts and words captured in the Storyslam chat from event participants, we wove together a vision for a more resilient and connected world…

Gratitude

We are honored to have shared the Storyslam stage with such brilliant storytellers. We are so grateful for your generous contributions of time, energy and excitement. And to our emcee, Jocelyn Jackson, you spun the magic and held us so well.

Thank you to our incredible team of volunteers, who made this gathering possible and rolled with the punches with grace. And thank you also to our sponsors and to the whole RFRS team, who worked around the clock to bring this incredible vision to life.

We especially want to extend our deepest gratitude to the facilitators of this evening’s stories: Amanda El-Dakhakhni, Pei-Ru Ko, Lindsey Lunsford and Stefani Renee Medley.
